Library Volunteer

Book Orders

Dinner-Auction Representative
Help your class engage with the Spring Dinner-Auction fundraiser by coordinating your class basket/project for auction and by encouraging attendance. Facilitate communication between class parents and planning committee.

"Easy Money" Class Representative

Field Trip Coordinator
Coordinate field trips per teacher's direction. Make reservations, collect required paperwork from parents, confirm drivers, recruit additional drivers as needed, compile list of drivers' cell phone numbers.

Green Team Representative
Help pass along information on Green Team initiatives to parents and coordinate with children and teachers on upcoming activities and environmental education info. Might also include ensuring green folder information is coordinated for those needing snail mail, working with Party Coordinators on greening party supplies, and working with zero waste lunch team to ensure that student lunchtime monitors are assigned in your class (roughly twice per year).

Metrathon Representative
Rally the class around the Metrathon. Facilitate communication between class parents and Metrathon committee. Help your teacher with his/her bid board event. Coordinate any parties the class may have won.

Nutrition, Health & Safety Representative

Paperwork Helper
Assist Teacher as needed with paper-related tasks like Green Folder or homework packet assembly, photocopying, collating, etc. Ideally, you'll work with your Teacher and your Green Team Rep to increase use of electronic alternatives and reduce the classroom's reliance on paper.

Party Coordinator
Organize classroom celebrations around holidays per the Teacher's preferences. If class wins a Metrathon party prize, you work with your class Metrathon Rep coordinate that event. Enlist other parents to participate in and contribute to these events.

Room Representative (aka Room Parent)
Ensure essential classroom tasks are accomplished by coordinating other parent volunteers. Serve as a liason with the Teacher. Assist school communication by forwarding email or initiating phone tree. Coordinate classroom expressions of Teacher Appreciation.

Science Support Helper
You don't have to be a science major!
Trained volunteers will show you the ropes. FOSS is a hands-on program that includes weekly science labs which take time for busy teachers to set up. Assist with the FOSS Science Kit Inventory in Sept, Dec, April, and Jun for 1 - 2 hours each time and set up Science labs for classroom, once a week for 1 hour
